For a family friendly New Year’s Eve, downtown Kennebunk hosts an annual Wild Blueberry Drop (Maine’s version of a Times Square ball drop – Maine humor) at 9pm and again at midnight in downtown Kennebunk. Best viewing is from Kennebunk Library lawn next to the First Parish UU Church. This is Kennebunk’s annual Blueberry Drop. The Waterhouse Center will be open for ice skating New Years Eve as well.

Boathouse Waterfront Hotel and Bar hosts a Rock the Boat New Year’s Eve! DJ, dancing, selfie station, snacks, sweets and drinks, Dec 31 8pm- 1am, tickets $140
Stripers Waterside Restaurant at The Breakwater Inn & Spa has a special New Years Eve menu, serving a special menu, make reservations and taste their Exec Chef’s’ creations while overlooking the glittery moonlight on the Kennebunk River.

Chez Rosa rings in the New Year with a tasting menu for just $89 per person. Reservations required.

Pilot House is the usual fun, New Years is no different…open 12-8pm – always great. Fun, food, local friends, libation and some music.

January 1 for a fun refreshingly good time, how about a New Year’s dip in the Atlantic? The fun, frosty Annual Atlantic Plunge – Freezin’ For A Reason takes place at Gooch’s Beach Kennebunk. This chilly Polar Plunge event is held at 10am New Year’s Day, Register for this refreshing swim, registration fee is $25.
Hotels and inns like Seaside Inn located directly on Kennebunk Beach have great quiet season rates and romance packages as we head into a new year, so folks from away should come here!
