Plunge rings in the New Year at Gooch’s Beach Kennebunk on January 1 2025. This chilly Polar Plunge event is held New Year’s Day! Registration for this refreshing swim, registration fee is $25.
What better way to ring in the New Year than a chilly swim in the Atlantic?! It’s called the Atlantic Plunge and it’s a very refreshing way to start the New Year. Brave souls don their swim suits, hit the beach, and dip into the ocean at Gooch’s Beach in Kennebunk Maine (aka Kennebunk Beach). They call it Freezin’ for a Reason, because the proceeds from each swimmer’s fundraising go to Caring Unlimited. Polar Plunge participants must raise and donate $25 or more to dip.
Call it a feel-good, do-good kick off to the New Year, and all those good intentions and resolutions! It’s also a sure cure for a hangover if you partied to heartily on NYE in KPT!
Kennebunk Beach’s Annual Atlantic Plunge is at Gooch’s Beach at 10:30am, now a 25+ year tradition for this frigid fun fundraiser. So mark your calendars and gather your cold courage now. Caring Unlimited offers local support to York County Maine families who have experienced abuse.
Other New Years Day Polar Plunges take place in Portland Maine and the Lobster Dip takes place at Old Orchard Beach.
