For the Love of Lobster
Visitors and Kennebunkport locals alike love their lobster. Whether to you it’s a delicacy, a summer treat, or a seafood staple, its best served with butter, and best eaten with a view out to sea – from whence it came. Kennebunkport’s lobstermen head out daily from the Kennebunk River and Cape Porpoise Harbor, to bring in fresh Maine lobster… its hard work, a proud heritage and a delicious tradition.

A Lobster Boat Tour aboard the Rugosa, leaving the Nonantum Docks daily, is a great way to see the process of lobster’ing. Captain Bob and his crew will cruise you out the Kennebunk River in this authentic red lobster boat, he’ll tell you about lobster fishing, even pull up a trap or two and let you touch a lobster. You also get to see the Bush Compound at Walkers Point from the sea, the best way to see this impressive Presidential estate and other Ocean Ave “cottages” along Kennebunkport’s shore. And you may see a Harbor seal or two or three.
