When visiting Maine you will not want to miss the First Friday Art Walk in Portland. Galleries throughout downtown Portland and the Old Port open their doors, serve light snacks and encourage art lovers to browse their galleries in the early evening.
Kennebunk Main Street has its own Art Walk the 2nd Friday of each month during summer.
2024 Kennebunk Art Walk dates are June 14, July 12, August 9 and September 13.
The 2nd Friday Kennebunk Art Walk centers on historic brick-lined Main Street in downtown Kennebunk. Part of Kennebunk’s 5-7pm Art Walk celebration is live outdoor music at Tibbets Square, local artists featured at Waterhouse Center and several local businesses, plus you will find food trucks and drink specials throughout town. You can make an evening of strolling Main Street, admiring art, listening to local music and enjoying a bite and cocktail or mocktail.
Kennebunkport and Kennebunk’s Lower Village is also home to numerous beautiful art galleries, jewelers, studios and museums that you can visit anytime at your leisure.
The Art Walk in Kennebunk is Free, and fun for everyone. Folks are encouraged to walk the Main Street of Kennebunk and visit art galleries including Brick Store Museum, Kennebunk Savings, Duffy’s, 50 Local, Kennebunk Inn, Wine House on Main, Well Housed, The Fifth Om, Will’s Copy Center, Perry’s Marine, Sylco Cabinetry, and Bangor Savings Bank.
Kennebunk’s Art Walk features art in all shapes and sizes – from traditional art, watercolor and oils, photography, to jewelry, pottery, sculpture, even vintage postcards. With the artist in residence, you meet the source, and learn about their inspiration and creation. Featured artists include Marguerite Genest, Mark Pizza Art, Steve and Josh Hrehovcik, Robert Akers, Bob Dennis, Kim Chilton, and more.
You can also stroll the many galleries, art studios, and shops in Kennebunkport and Lower Village, enjoy the artistic talents that have creative space here, then grab a light bite and a cocktail at Old Vines Wine Barin Lower Village Kennebunk.
