Sporting Events
Kennebunkport is a sporty town, with beach walks, bike rides along Ocean Ave and frequent road races throughout the year.
The Bridal Path off Route 9, by the Mousam River Bridge offers beautifully scenic walks along the tidal river, as does the Rachel Carson Wildlife Reserve just over the border in Wells.
Kennebunkport Conservation Trust has great mountain bike trails for biking including 10 miles of recreational trails on the Edwin L. Smith Preserve from their headquarters on Gravely Brook Drive in Kennebunkport. There is also now a Labyrinth to tour at the Trust.
Go ice skating at Waterhouse Center in downtwon Kennebunk in winter, or go bowling all year round at Garden Street Bowl in downtown Kennebunk. For cycling Maine Rev offers indoor spin class all year round.
As for big sporting events, there’s the Kennebunk High School athletics, the Rams football games, soccer, lacrosse, tennis, track and field hockey – all KHS games are free to attend.
Maine has a proud competitive sport heritage, and visitors can attend sporting events with affordable tickets and family friendly venues.
