If you don’t already love The Kennebunks, you will shore-ly fall for our seaside community in fall! See our Fall photos out and about Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Lower Village and Cape Porpoise. First, there’s the perfect temperatures and beautiful foliage. The beach walks are brilliant, and the sales in the Dock Square shops, art galleries and boutiques of Dock Square and downtown Kennebunk are also worth falling for.
Kennebunk Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8am – 1pm. This fresh outdoor farmers market goes on all summer, spring and fall but its best during harvest time when local farmers have a bounty of local produce, beef, flowers, pumpkins and crafts. Bring your own bags, and cash… and enjoy the cornucopia of native grown food and farm raised beef, local honey and syrup, artisan cheese and more.
Maine Oktoberfest is a month of fun along the Southern Maine Coast – from York to Ogunquit and Wells going on through Halloween Saturday, October 31.
Kennebunk Harvest Fest is on a Saturday in early October in downtown Kennebunk featuring crafts, costumes and food! This Annual Harvest Fest includes craft fair, costume parade, pumpkin decorating, scarecrow scavenger hunt, music, face painting and more, downtown Kennebunk.
October is also time for the Annual Coastal Kitchen Tour to benefit the Senior Center. Visit six featured kitchens in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport after purchasing your tickets and getting your map at the Senior Center at Lower Village, 175 Port Road, Kennebunk Lower Village.
The Annual Trust Trail Fest and Race in Kennebunkport is in October. This fun run for all age takes place at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, 57 Gravelly Brook Rd., Kennebunkport.
Late October is wonderful time to visit the Nonantum Resort. The historic resort and inn is all dress in fall colors, with huge pumpkins and a fabulous fall display. Go to Heckman’s Pub for a cozy cocktail.
Watch for the Sand Witches of the Kennebunks– this gaggle of fun gals are “Good Witches for Good Deeds.” They do charitable work throughout the year here, but Halloween they are “wicked Festive” for their Sand Witch Beach Photo event. They also march is the annual Christmas Prelude Hat Parade.
Fall is also a great time to come vacation in the Kennebunks. Inns, bed and breakfasts and resorts have more vacancies, especially midweek in October and November…so the price is right and the scenery is as always – spectacular. Sea ya’all this fall in Kennebunkport…
